Terms of Service
Terms for using the pdfToMarkdown website and API.
Last updated: June 11, 2026
Acceptance
By using pdfToMarkdown, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the website or API.
Service description
pdfToMarkdown converts PDF documents into Markdown through a REST API. The public demo tier is rate-limited and processes only page 1. Developer keys may include monthly page quotas.
Acceptable use
You may use the service only for lawful purposes. Do not submit content you do not have the right to process, attempt to bypass rate limits or quotas, disrupt the service, reverse engineer private infrastructure, or use the API to process illegal or harmful content.
Your documents
You retain rights to the documents you submit. You are responsible for ensuring you have permission to process those documents with a server-side OCR API.
API keys
Keep API keys private. You are responsible for requests made with your key. We may revoke or limit keys that abuse the service or create operational risk.
No warranty
The service is provided as is. OCR and document parsing can be imperfect, especially for low-quality scans, unusual layouts, protected PDFs, or documents with complex visual structure.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, pdfToMarkdown is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages from use of the service.
